Deadline.com is reporting on a film project in the making on the legendary Bruce Lee. Deadline reports that this project has been in the works for several years now and is a passion project of three time Oscar winning director Ang Lee. Ang, known for character driven stories and beautiful visuals certainly is a great pick to helm a film on Bruce Lee. The very fact that it is a director of his quality gives the hope that this film will stand out in the sea of narrative and documentary films about the legendary martial arts master.

As deadline reports, Mason Lee, the son of Ang Lee, will take on the monumental task of portraying Bruce. Mason, a relative unknown to westerners is by no means a newcomer to film and television. He is a graduate of Tisch School of the Arts (NYU) of His resume shows over 20 roles and American audiences would know him best as Teddy, the missing brother of the bride in Hangover II. The bulk of Mason’s roles have been in Taiwan and Hong Kong. He’s been nominated for Golden Horse Awards for Best Supporting actor in two Hong Kong films: Limbo and Who Killed Cock Robin. Mason has been training for the role of Bruce Lee for 3 ears. His training has been in the physical martial arts of Bruce Lee as well as Cha Cha dance and plenty of homework on the life, personality, and training habits of the master. Sources close to MALMAG have said that Mason has been putting in very hard work for this role and is just amazing in his screen tests as the late martial arts legend.
